This notice explains which cookies Shipping-Containers.co.nz uses and how you can control them. It supports our privacy policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the website to work. Others record how the website is used.

2. Essential cookies

These cookies are needed to run the website securely and quickly:

• WordPress cookies: a test cookie that checks whether your browser accepts cookies, and login and settings cookies that are set only for site administrators who sign in.
• Security cookies: set by our security tools to tell real visitors from automated traffic and to protect the quote form from spam and attacks.
• Performance cookies: set by our host SiteGround for caching and to route requests efficiently. They are technical and are not used to build a profile of you.

These cookies are essential to the website and are not used for advertising.

3. Analytics

We use two analytics tools to see which pages are useful, how visitors find the website and how many people complete the quote form.

• Plausible Analytics counts page views and quote form steps without cookies and without storing IP addresses. The statistics are aggregated, and Plausible is hosted in the European Union.
• Google Analytics 4 sets the cookies _ga and _ga_S3LEGFMM49. They store a random identifier for up to two years so that repeat visits can be told apart. Google receives usage data such as pages viewed, device and browser type and an approximate location derived from the IP address, and processes it in the United States and other countries.

We look at these reports only in aggregated form and do not use them to identify you. We do not use advertising or remarketing cookies. If that changes, we will update this notice and our privacy policy first.

You can opt out of Google Analytics on any website with Google’s opt-out browser add-on, or block analytics cookies in your browser as described below.

4. How to control cookies

New Zealand law does not require a cookie banner, so we give you the information here instead. You can view, block or delete cookies in your browser settings:

• Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies or Delete browsing data
• Safari: Settings (or Preferences), then Privacy
• Firefox: Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies and Site Data
• Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions

Menu names change between browser versions and devices, so check your browser’s help pages if these steps do not match. You can also use private browsing, which deletes cookies when you close the window. If you block all cookies, some features, such as the quote form, may not work.
